 Program Training Times

The following are regularly scheduled training times.  Some variation around holidays and training days bordering meets.  Your coach will indicate if there’s any variation to the schedule and updates will be provided in emails and the newsletter as the season progresses. Please also check our calendar for any updates.

Track Rascals (ages 6-8)
The Track Rascals will practice at the Apple Bowl every Monday/ Wednesday 4 – 5:30pm. (September 25th – November 1st)

Practice will move indoors to the Capital News Centre on Gordon Drive on Monday November 6th

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT – CROSS COUNTRY. (9-13 YRS)
NEW this year. We will have a separate cross-country program for J.D. Athletes. This is a 6-week program and will run from Thursday September 21st until Thursday October 26th.

Practice will be on Thursdays from 4:30 – 5:30 at mission Creek park (meet at the EECO Centre) and Sundays 10:30 – 12 noon (location TBD) 1st Sunday practice will be at the base of Knox mountain.

Junior Development (ages 9-13)

Our Junior Development athletes will train at the Apple Bowl every Monday and Wednesday 4 – 5:30pm

Practice will move indoors to the CNC on Gordon Drive on Monday November 6th

Senior Power/Speed (Midget, Youth, Junior, Senior, & Masters)

All senior athletes who wish to train for sprinting, hurdles, jumps and throws will train in the Power/Speed group.

Training will be at the Apple Bowl every Monday and Wednesday 5:30 – 7:30pm and Saturday 10-12 noon.

Saturday practice locations are:

Saturday Sept 30th – “the hill” behind Chute Lake Elementary School (Kettle Valley).
Saturday Oct 7th – Mission Creek Greenway (meet at Eco Centre off of Springfield entrance)
Saturday Oct 14th – Bear Creek Park (Westside Rd.)
Saturday Oct 21st – “the hill” Chute Lake School
Saturday Oct 28th – Bear Creek Park
Saturday Nov 4th – “the hill” Chute Lake School

Practice will move indoors to the CNC on Gordon Drive on Monday November 6th

 

Senior Middle Distance/Distance (Midget, Youth, Junior, Senior, & Masters)

Training will be Monday and Thursday 4:00-5:30 and Saturday 9-10:30, Monday and Saturday at the mission greenway, Thursday at the Apple Bowl.

There will be a break from November 25th until January when practice will move indoors (dependent on weather) There will be no practices on the Thanksgiving and Remembrance long weekends.

 

MASTERS GROUP (Sprints, Sprint Hurdles Jumps and Throws)
All masters athletes who wish to train for sprinting, hurdles, jumps and throws will train in the Power/Speed group.
Training will be at the Apple Bowl every Monday and Wednesday 5:30 – 7:30pm and Saturday 10-12 noon.

Athletes are asked to arrive for practice on time.  If, for any reason you will be late or cannot make it to a practice, please inform your coach ahead of time.  Please be aware that it can get quite cold at the Apple Bowl, especially when the sun has gone down.  Athletes should dress warmly in layers and bring a water bottle.  We recommend gloves for the Track Rascals and younger J.Ds

Parents: please collect your athletes on time at the end of each practice.
